Our society is already very socialistic. Our founding father TJ, as seen above, predicted this 200 years ago. And it will only get worse from here on out, unless we revolt against our current form of government and instill new laws governing them. While that sounds nice, what model will we base this off of?
I don't believe social programs should ever be done away with all together. I do agree they should be tightly governed and that every tax payers dollar should go toward some type of betterment of our nation.
I'm on the fence in regards to a drug testing program for benefits. Let's face it, there are too many ways to pass a drug test, if need be. I see it as a waste, in which the benefits saved will not outweigh the cost of such program in it's entirety.

Drugs Test are very cheap nowadays especially in the quantities that the US GOVT would be using. I think its a very valid and a good start to reform. Most of the people on Welfare have the "entitlement" idea and are very lazy. It would filter out a portion of the people. If you made them have to work they wouldn't use it. If they wanted to work they would get a job. They would find another way to scam the system. That's all they are doing. They are like food hackers.
Back when i was younger living on my own eating ramen noodles struggling to keep lights on, i went to a buddy's house in the projects. His sister was on welfare and no lie man they had filet mignon, lobster, the whole shibang. Pretty fucked up. I say get rid of it and then we shoot them all in the head when they start rioting.

We will never "make anyone have to work". It just won't happen.
Like I said, I'm on the fence. I don't want my tax dollars going to a crack head. But I also don't want a crack heads child being starved because she's a crack head and couldn't pass a drug test to get food stamps.
There is more involved in "reform" than just drug testing everyone, then denying benefits if failed. Do we then just turn them away and say, "Sorry, you're a crack head, good luck with life"? Do we "reform" them, put them into treatment, job programs, etc? Who's paying for that? What if they have children? Do we turn a blind eye to the fact that they're being raised in that environment, likely to grow up with the same fate? I understand the "shoot them all" mentality.....but, first, who's the judge and executioner?

I think the whole "this is the environment they were raised in" thing is BS. I was raised in it. You either wanna live in that or you get the fuck out one way or another. Either your a lazy shit or you do something about it. Take their kids and put them in foster care or with (if they have any) decent relatives. A crackhead is always a crackhead. Yes its someone elses mother, brother, sister, lover...but they will always be a piece of shit.

Its as simple as that, but think it will happen? Nope, because politicians don't want to lose that demographics vote, so they do everything possible to keep them happy and increase their numbers, thereby creating a larger constituent base. Nobody has the balls to tell them verbatim "work hard or gtfo." Sometimes the people who are known as the biggest dicks, are really just the ones who tell it like it is, and people don't want to hear the truth about themselves. They'd rather hear a sweet lie than an ugly truth. It is what it is people..... life ain't pretty, its a daily grind. We are not all gonna be top of the world status.
