Cut stock f4i Exhaust - M.F. Mall Cop - 04-27-2011 K well gunna try this out. Since ive already cut the back and I still dont like the length of the pipe im still gunna cut it down some more. Gunna cut the front pipe like everyones been saying 6inches and reweld the front, mounting braket, and back cap. Ill leave the back cap as is and hope it all works out. If anyones cut both ends before please let me know. I want to know what it sound like/if it works well. Cut stock f4i Exhaust - Sunner - 04-27-2011 Not to thread jack or anything but this doesn't really need its own thread, would filling an ehaust tip with extra packing help quite it down more? Cut stock f4i Exhaust - da Liks - 04-27-2011 THIS is the only way to do it and keep it sounding stock and having the same back-pressure, or better.. Cut stock f4i Exhaust - da Liks - 04-27-2011 no... filling the tip? it would all blow out again instantly. Cut stock f4i Exhaust - J-Stunt - 04-27-2011 I was going to say the same thing heh... Re-packing your exhaust requires actually taking your exhaust apart... not just packing shit into the end of it. haha Funny related story: Back in the day my buddy re-packed his stock F2 exhaust after cutting it down. Well Long story short, his packing method didnt work. First time his bike backfired after a high RPM wheelie set down it shot the exhaust packing about 15 ft. into the air. One of the funniest things i ever watched happen while riding to this day. He then proceeded to hit the kill switch on and off causing the good ol carb bike back fire and shot the rest of the loose material out of the exhaust into the atmosphere haha. Good stuff, great memories back on topic
Cut stock f4i Exhaust - Sunner - 04-28-2011 Well of course not actually putting stuff into the tip, I was talking about the packing, but if extra packing will lead to a story like that I will just leave it alone. Cut stock f4i Exhaust - ubervin - 04-28-2011 DUDE check out stunt bums they have a video on how to make the exhaust shorter Cut stock f4i Exhaust - M.F. Cut stock f4i Exhaust - M.F. Mall Cop - 05-11-2011 So I got the stocker cut down at the H, rewelded and bolted. Only thing is that it drags if the bike falls to the right. I tried lifting the pipe as high as i can but it wont go any further. Any suggestions to keep it from scraping/pullin the exhaust out on a crash? Im running a sick foldable subcage. Exhaust is mounted on the footpeg with a small 3inch rectangular bracket. ![]()
