I'm figuring with the info I've found just from the state legislature's website, I should have enough info right now to get the case dismissed.

The law says it's legal if I have a prepaid toll account and I've had one since I moved here 3 months ago. Technically speaking, I didn't break the law. Cop just wanted to be a dick because he saw my "Police Suck" sticker on my bike. Probably a good thing I didn't show him my FTP tattoo.

Dude you crack me up. I don't feel sorry for you at all. You put a "police suck" sticker on your bike and then expect them to be nice and let you go with a warning?

I'm not saying you were.. But I can only imagine that you were more then likly a jerk to him as well and as far as him pulling you over for no reason. Theres always 2 sides to a story.

I don't have to guess how intelligent you are. Your comment that you have a FTP tattoo pretty much summed that up for me.

I agree with Derek, Even though Derek used to rock the license plate "FDA50" up here in ND back in his Squid stunts days on the pink F3 haha.

But putting "Cops lie, Cops suck, FTP" or any other stickers on your bike is just asking for the cop to throw the book in your face if you get pulled over. Maybe he did just pull you over for the horizontal plate. But maybe he had full intent on just giving you a warning. Till he walked up to your bike, seen it was a stunt bike, then seen all the "Cops Suck" stickers or whatever you got on your bike. And that instantly switch him to bad cop. Give them respect and they will give you respect.

I will agree that a 1,200 dollar fine for that is OUTRAGEOUS. But if you started an attitude with the guy or offended him with your sweet stickers, i dont blame him for giving you the full fine amount. Even though i doubt that crap will hold up in court. Unless the cop appears in court and states you were rude and disrespectful to him.

This is true. But this is what I'm saying. I grew up a little since then and realized that if you take the stupid stuff off your bike and treat the cop with respect normally they will let you go with no ticket or let you off easily.

Check the wheelie law that used to contain the license plate law. It may still be active. Also, make sure motorcycles aren't excluded from the laws that you're citing.

agreed!! take off those stickers and get yourself a concealed weapons permit

pull out the permit when you get pulled over. just slip it in under your liscense... could work wonders or could not do shit, just depends on the officer and what you have done

I didnt see him say that he "expects them to be nice and let him go with a warning"?? I think his point was that, IF it is illegal, make the fines appropriate. But it sounds like his research has shown it is NOT illegal, yet he was ticketed anyways. I think he's just expecting fair, legal treatment, from a public servant.

Just my , (please keep in mind, I find the "cops suck" and "FTP" shit annoying and childish too) BUT, freedom of speech, and expression is a right he has as an american, and he should not be given erroneous tickets because of that.

Also....in my experience, more often than not, cops do not let you go with no ticket, or "let you off easily"....(which I'm confused as to WTF that even means?) regardless of your attitude or demeanor. Truth is, MOST cops are assholes, especially to sport bike riders.
