zx6rr motor or 636 motor install - tbozf4izzle - 01-09-2011 agreed right on the money
zx6rr motor or 636 motor install - Nick Apex - 01-09-2011 I have had two 03/04 6rr's. The gearing ratio is a little different in the 6rr, the slipper clutch is also there and that's great. But the motors are noticeably different and the power makes the 636 better for what we do. The bikes themselves have a lot of differences much more in the 04 than the 03. But all in all, if it's a stuntbike, unless the motor is free the 636 is nicer. Nothing wrong with the 6rr, but it's not as good for freestyle. zx6rr motor or 636 motor install - GIL with 1 L - 01-09-2011 Thanks everyone for the input. Normally I would just try both motors and see but due to time constraints I will go with the 636 motor which I love and just put the 6rr in my street bike zx6rr motor or 636 motor install - GIL with 1 L - 01-09-2011 Thanks Nick, this was the concise response I was looking for zx6rr motor or 636 motor install - da Liks - 01-09-2011 computer says no zx6rr motor or 636 motor install - da Liks - 01-09-2011 question from my side: Gil, what is "destroked" (i'm foreign yo!) zx6rr motor or 636 motor install - tbozf4izzle - 01-09-2011 my bad lol I ment they were diffrent the 6rr it geared closer my boy pj stunts had one and it seamed like it pulled so much harder than my 04 636
zx6rr motor or 636 motor install - Outlaw Society - 01-09-2011 I've got a 2003 ZX6RR, and I like it. Never had a true 636 as a stunt piece though. I know the clutch is different (thanks to Rowdy ), the trans. is geared differently (I really noticed a diff in 2nd gear), front brake pads are different, and then the obvious physical differences in the motor. I've heard yes/no answers as to whether the ECU's are flashed with different maps?
zx6rr motor or 636 motor install - GIL with 1 L - 01-09-2011 Stroke =the distance from the center of the crank to the connecting rod journal ..if you change that distance with a different crank /rods you can make the displacement larger or smaller. Which leads to why I asked, a destroked motor in theory should be easier to turn in. I like to cut hard into my circles, but if Apex says the effects are negligible I will go with that knowing that he rode a duc that has a large stroke he would be able to say. anyone who has rode a vtwin can tell you how much the gyroscopic forces affect your style zx6rr motor or 636 motor install - Doodle - 01-09-2011 Ive never ridden the 0304 6RR but i have ridden the 05 RR and have a lot of seat time on an 05 636.. The difference is there but hard to notice...they are both fast and both pull hard..just the RR is tuned more for High rpm gear banging on tracks, with the 636 model tuned for more street friendly use.. both are fucking sick tho..I'd ride either or if i had the chance. |
