Quiet down my Exhaust--Homemade Help! - OldManJimmy - 01-13-2010 I agree, I have an 88 and use the super trap method to fix high back pressure. This is simply taking out the spark arrester and putting washers between the spark arrester and the exhaust Alvin. Real easy to tune the exhaust this way too. I did not cut the spark arrester screen either.
Quiet down my Exhaust--Homemade Help! - armenian. - 01-13-2010 Is the spark arrester the wire mesh removeable cylindrical insert? Quiet down my Exhaust--Homemade Help! - Juca - 01-13-2010 btw that central cylindrical wire mesh you can find in oil filer,i used old truck oil filter, and that wire mesh inside is more like an pipe with holes,it work sick, wool around that wont come inside through the holes, take one old filter (larger = better) cut it lengthwise with electric grinder and split it... and take the mesh cylindrical wire. i used this ![]() but dont cut the redline too deep, here you can see ![]() and that wire looks like this (but just one layer) and without rubber ends ![]() just cut the head on the start like here ![]() Quiet down my Exhaust--Homemade Help! - armenian. - 01-13-2010 Yo hell yea! Thanks Juca!!! Im going to go buy an oil filter today and give it a shot!!!! Great idea bro!!!! If i can fit my dremel in there tight, id like to leave the flange on the end of that wire mesh to keep it in place in the can!! Quiet down my Exhaust--Homemade Help! - Juca - 01-13-2010 dont buy it,find one old filter
