Well this is my first post so I'm might as well start with somethin I'm currently strugglin with. I just installed my first full cage and subcage on my 04 636 and the it vibrates pretty bad at 7-8k rpms. I made sure it was properly installed, everything is aligned perfectly, I torqued the motor mount bolts to 30 ft/lbs just like SOn said and it vibrates pretty bad in that narrow rpm range. Ive only put about 60 miles on it so far. Is this vibration normal? or will it go away?

The vibration your are hearing is the sliders.. Get some black electrical tape and tape around them so they can not vibrate while in place. Your welcome ✋

Good purchase tho.. Impaktech cages are the best on the market in my opinion

Hmm I'll have to try that! I guess when I take them off I can ride it real quick and see if it is still vibrating if so its gotta be the sliders. Thanks man!

It's definitely the sliders if the cage bolts are tight.. Good luck post up your findings

So i took the sliders or pucks off on my lunch break and rode it around and it still vibrates like crazy at 7k rpms I don't get it. So tonight I'm going to take it apart and put it back together. Maybe something didn't seat right on there. I'm pretty sure its put together properly tho. I used the shorter bolt with the spacer on the left side and the longer bolt on the right side and tightened those to 30ft lbs like Son said. then I tightened the rod that goes through the swingarm till I squished through about half of the rubber pad and I also tightened the crossbar until it couldn't turn anymore comfortably. Is there a specific sequence I should tighten everything in? Like hand tight all bolts then start from back to front tightening down everything?

Maybe its not the cage? Remove it and ride it see if it still vibrates.

I'm pretty sure it the cage cuz I was riding the bike all last week after I changed all the fluids and the second I put the cage on I started noticing the vibration. I'm going to take it off tonight and put it back on and carefully retighten everything and see how it goes. I wondering if the engine mounting locknut might not be torqued to spec and that could also be causing it. I dont know anyone with that type of socket so I was thinkin i might put a grinder to an old socket but I really dont wanna have to go through all that if I dont have to. Is there a specific tightening sequence you would recommend? I was thinking hand tighten everything then start with the motor mounts left then right (1), swingarm rod (2), then crossbar (3)

Post pics of the mounting of the cage on your bike.. Your frame broken or bent or something? Impaktech cages and jigs are spot on so you have to have another problem man. Do you have the rubber pieces resting in between the cage and frame at the back mount?
