Hey I'm really starting to get into stunting and I recently got my Klx as a gift. I have put the powercore 4 exhaust on it and dyno stage 2 jetting. And chopped off the back fender where it hangs down. I know theres countless mods i can do. But i wanna know what else i can add to my bike to help me more in stunting. I tried using the passenger pegs for wheelies but it really didnt work for me. So if theres and Klx riders that can help me out or anyone else who can give me there input that would great, Thanks.

Don't know about the KLX specifically, but dirtbikes in general are pretty easy to do basic stuff on right out of the box. I would say start with sitdowns and once you're good at anything you can think of with your foot on the brake, then see if you can rig up a hand brake. Other than that, just ride it and have fun!

Good advice 762spr
Also I would see about getting a footbar, rear 50stunt pegs, and a decent hb setup although I'm not sure if anybody even makes stuff for that bike.

I had the 2009 klx250f street legal dirtbike version and it was a blast though only like 18 HP. If you don't ride much highway drop a tooth in the front and you will have more fun in the lot. Unless you dont plan to go 60+ you can't gear muck more than than

Like loogie said a foot/12 bar would be good since the stock passenger pegs are not in a great location.

Keep an eye on the front brake line, mine would get bound up in the routing clamps and start almost tearing the line near the clutch lever area.

Right now this bike is my only for of transportation so i dont want to mess with gearing. I cant find anything for this bike as far a foot bars or anything along those lines. And for me right now sitdowns are not possible. Im ordering Zeda shorty clutch and brake for this bike because this the stock lever dropping clutch is to uncomfortable.

What do you mean "sitdowns are not possible?" Don't you have a butt???

Sit down, cover brake and pop clutch. It's easy, just do it about 1000 times and you'll be good. Dirtbikes are easy because their balance point is so low and they have so much engine braking (as long as it's a four stroke) you hardly need the brake. Do whatever you want, I'm just saying there's nothing wrong with stunting a stock dirtbike, then you don't have to spend a lot of money on parts until you feel like you need them.

Oh, and on my dirtbike I just chopped the stock lever down for 1 or 2 fingers. I like that for trail riding in the tight stuff. If I wanted to stunt it seriously, I would get an easy pull (RSC because they are the bee's knees). If you aren't going for easy pull, there's no reason to shell out for an aftermarket lever unless you're just going for looks. Just take a hacksaw to it and then sand it smooth. Your hand will be thanking you if you get an RSC though!

I just dont have enough experience clutching up wheelies. And i was just about to cut the clutch lever.

Bro, there's only one way to get experience. Go do some wheelies! Start small and work your way up! Throwing pegs and a handbrake is just one more thing to practice.

Klx250sf Stunter - TheRadDude - 08-11-2013

Other than looking like a tard trying to clutch em up im getting better. Ive been trying them in 1st gear is that the best practice in? Just because there us much more torque and power wheelie are easier.

Klx250sf Stunter - 762SPR - 08-12-2013

Yeah, first or second should be good. Start from going as slow as you can and try to bring it straight up to balance point. Don't chase them out, just start with small lifts and slowly stay on the throttle a little longer each time until you're going straight to BP. It will definitely take some practice, but keep on it. Try to be smooth and consistent with the throttle. Ideally you want the throttle to be slightly lifting the wheel at balance point and then tap the brake to keep bringing it down. If you have that control down, then with the idle set to that throttle position, you can take your throttle hand off for tricks. Easier said than done, but with practice it will come!
