What are the benefits of a full steel tube frame vs a half frame? I am pretty sure I'm getting one for my r6 but I don't know which I should get.

I dont think there is any giant advantage to a full frame. Its pretty much the cool factor. Thats my opinion. If i had the dough i'd get a full frame.

Since I'm doing a complete rebuild on the bike I may just go ahead and splurge on a full if I have the extra cash then. lol

I have never heard of an r6 frame cracking. I guess someone must have managed to do it, but it's very rare if anything. I would not spend the money on it. besides no one other than badass makes them I think. And that's assuming its an r6s. The 2006+ r6r are almost nonexistent as stunt bikes and no one makes frames for them. I would focus on making wheelies and not trying to drop a grand for nothing instead.

Also a good point but I do think they add to the overall look of the bike not to mention durability. I read somewhere else on here that r6 frames are pretty beefy as it is. But now that you bring up the whole r6r and r6s issue...I think it is a r6r which I know are not too good for stunting...but I will have to make it work. I hope I can get a cage and the rest of the parts for it still.

I've had a couple half frames. I liked them but I really like the look of the full steel frame bikes. Just bought a badass full fairing full steel frame for my 2010 zx6. Always wanted one lol.

The r6 half frame looks like shit....on a stock frame there are two big holes on each side of the frame right after the air duct holes....anyways these holes are covered up by a piece of plastic that is separate from the actual plastics....badass didn't put the mounts for these on the frame and because I it there is a HUGE gap in the fairings and it looks like garbage

wouldnt waste time or effort on an r6v model, you'll probly end up sellin it so better off to do so before destroyin it.

One of the biggest differences/advantages is weight. The rear cast section is the heaviest part of the frame, so half frames always weigh more than full frames. I know the Kawi full frame from Bad Ass Industries can come in weighing less than stock....
