Vic's 03/04 half steel frame RE-build - VicOnOne - 01-14-2013 So my bike has been taken apart for a while now and my Bad Ass frame is supposed to be here tomorrow so i decided its about time to start my rebuild thread. Yesterday i finished the process of fixing the cracks and zip tie holes in my fairings and painting them high gloss black. i rattle canned it, put about 5 coats of paint over 2 days on them and i think they look pretty good. i also had the fork seals replaced. Here are some pics: My Paint tent in my basement and fairings ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() the rest of my bike Laying around everywhere ![]() My NDC bracket, sickest one out there right now imo My Green shorty RSC Going to Still use my Onpoint sub cage which has plasting sliders on the end that are replaceable ![]() and also going to reuse my tygershark cage which is still it really good shape even after a highway crash![]() Things to do: clean air mod vinyl wrap forks black and paint the bottoms find a zx11 d rotor to make my NDC bracket a big rotor kit green and black chain and sprocket get my seats done paint and redo the ht moto padding on the tank(i moved it around too much off the bike and the gas spilled everywhere and fucked the glue on the pad up and messed up the paint) fix oil pan leak order new round bar( the current one is more than crooked from a wreck) and I'm sure there is some other stuff that i need to do that ill remember once i look at my bike Vic's 03/04 half steel frame RE-build - COOLIE - 01-14-2013 It's going to look good man You can grab a rotor off eBay for dirt cheap for the Ndc set up Vic's 03/04 half steel frame RE-build - VicOnOne - 01-15-2013 Thanks man, I'm going it kinda cheap and with all the hook ups i can get. but i take my time on the application of everything so it comes out clean. and i've been looking for a rotor but all of them come on the rim. im a very visually person and i know people like picture so ill have plenty of them up. Vic's 03/04 half steel frame RE-build - VicOnOne - 01-15-2013 just a few updates, my frame is 20 minutes from my house at the ups store but i have to wait at home all day till they deliver it here. This is going to be the longest wait of my life... and some more pics. i got the bleeder screw is for my hb finally, i stripped the other one bleeding it to many times. and using vice grips to do it is not fun ![]() heres some better pics of my fairings, finished after the bondo and watch the inside looks like. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() so from a wreck i had i busted up the tabs of the headlight and destroyed the wiring, somehow not damaging the lens, so i separated it from the other half the difficult way. ![]() ![]() i figure powder coating the shock is somewhat difficult so i decided to paint it. ![]() ![]() and i also forgot that i had gotten and painted the NDC radiator cage
Vic's 03/04 half steel frame RE-build - M.F. Mall Cop - 01-15-2013 Looks dope kid cant wait to see how it looks at the end. Miss ridin with all you washington killers. Vic's 03/04 half steel frame RE-build - VicOnOne - 01-16-2013 Thank mall cop. better get a bike done there and keep killin it Vic's 03/04 half steel frame RE-build - always.anthony - 01-16-2013 looking good, how are you repairing the fairings/painting them? Vic's 03/04 half steel frame RE-build - VicOnOne - 01-16-2013 Thanks man, they were cracked and had zip tie holes in them, so i use a pencil iron to plastic weld it back together then i used JB weld to make is even stronger, then i used body filler on the front (which was my first time) and then about 5 coats of high gloss black spay paint Vic's 03/04 half steel frame RE-build - VicOnOne - 01-17-2013 So i have some MAJOR updates. I got two frames in yesterday!!!.... ![]() I love the way they look, they feel very strong, the quality of the work looks excellent and am happy overall with it. Here is dustin with his. ![]() The BAD NEWS: wrong frames...there was a minor mistake when sent out from the shop, both of the halves did not have the full fairing tabs of the mount for the stunt stay welded on, as ordered. which put a damper on my whole day. and means even more of a wait time to get this all squared away. The GOOD NEWS: When i called Billie at Bad Ass Industries. and told him this he apologized for is fuck up and made it right! (will be doing business with him still) I'm sending my half to someone that ordered a street fighter one and he's sending mine out on saturday and throwing in a new round bar for me, (my old one is trashed). Dustin has access to welding and billie is sending him the parts to do it him self and hooking him up with some product as well. for a shitty situation to occur like this it ended up working out ok. i have some more time to break down my parts for powder coating work on the engine casings paint. also i need to start pulling every single bolt out of the parts that are getting powder and label them. so last night i cleared some work space and drained the oil with two 5 gallon buckets and my roommate as my stand lol ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() put the engine in a trash bag so no dust or other shitty things could get into my engine ![]() heres all my parts ready for powder (except the frame, i just put it in the picture cause it looks sick) ![]() and i was on my way home from work and passed by harbor freight tools and grabbed some zip ties, a stunters best friend, 2 bucks a pack!
