Cut stock f4i Exhaust - M.F. Mall Cop - 04-26-2011

So I decided to cut my stock f4i exhaust pipe today. Most people were saying cut the tip and cut the H in Honda and weld the tip to where the H was. Cutting went fine no problems but the only thing is that the holes dont match up. Is that how its supposed to be? The hole on the tip splits the pipes inside the muffler.

Yea it workin good thanks. Ive seen those threads and post 32. It doesnt line up right like in the drawing. Is it supposed to line up like that, cuz mine doesnt? What if I just weld it as is?

And I figured since I already have to reweld it, might as well cut the front 5 or 6 inches cuz theres nothing there. Will the sound change much? I hate long pipes and even after cutting the back it feels long.

youve got it right so far, i havent cut one myself so if someone comes to correct me maybe take their advice but from what i have read and seen, you can either weld it just like you have got and call it done, maybe turn ur bike on and test it to see how it sounds and that would be a guess on what it would sound like that or......

you see that inside cap with a tube on the tip? i think it is removable and you cut the tip off so its just a cap and make the hole bigger and the top tube inside the pipe you have to bend/move so it fits inside that cap and weld it so it stays and then weld the other cap on...do you get what im saying?

could be a while, hes is getting burned for service with his radiator cages the last couple weeks, maybe try asking omr or someone that would know...but good luck!! btw mines a stocker and completely gutted and i dont mind it too much so yours with all the internals should be pretty quiet!

Haha true that. Took me 3ish weeks to get my dcp cage and its coming in tomorrow finally. I just wanna keep it as short as I can go while still keeping it quiet ish.

I can't really help you out, but when I cut my stock pipe, I cut it at the other end instead. It's hollow on that end, so I chopped like 6in off and still got to keep all the internals. I had to move the hanger bracket too, but it wasn't a big deal.

I cut mine looks just like yours re welded it and had no probs, If something doesnt work out with yours let me know, you pay to ship it and ill send it to you, I cut the midpipe off though so you'll have to re weld it.

Ive never done a stock can before. But ive cut down alot of pipes to make them short. Ive always cut them at the bottom as well, rather then at the end. My Magical number for a stunt exhaust has always been "Cut 6" off" Its about the perfect length if you ask me.
