Weird Noise In Front After Wreck - redstar - 03-25-2011

So last weekend I went out and had a small wreck. Everything is fine as far as the whole bike goes. The crash cage worked like a charm and I rode the bike after that with no issues.

When I was loading the bike back up I noticed it had a odd noise in the front somewhere. A few guys looked at it and also thought it was odd but no clue as to what it could be.

I took gas tank off and looked around, everything was in the proper place and no issues, the frame seemed fine and no cracks that I noticed.

So anyhow, here is a video that I made demonstrating the noise. It comes from the very front of the bike, Near radiator area. I do not know if the sound is fooling me but I am pretty sure its from the front. Anyhow, here it is.

hahaha, thanks man. yeah I wish it was brighter but by the time I am off work and I also took crash cage apart and no issues spotted so I figured I would make a video to ask. Figured talking about it just wouldn't be enough. Either way, solution or not, ima go out again this weekend and practice getting to balance point.

could it be your bearings

Weird Noise In Front After Wreck - *RecklessDan* - 03-25-2011

Or the springs might be rubbing on the forks you could have bent the forks a bit for it to make that noise my f4i used to do that noise after i wrecked it

^^^ That's what i was thinking. Maybe one of the springs are hung up or broken. You'd be suprised how straight i bike can ride on twisted forks too. Maybe they are a lil tweaked Hope you find out whats wrong bro.

Great idea with the vid in the post

Thanks for the fast replies guys.

Crash, how long did you ride your bike after that? I don't really want to replace the forks just yet, but if its something I need to do i guess I should. One odd thing is, I laid the bike on its side and compressed the forks and didn't hear it. It could be the bearing actually because when I put force of the complete front while on the ground the noise came up, I will look at it again tomorrow and try to get another video of the bike laid over.

Front wheels in the air anyway, fuck it My triples are bent, my forks are bent, and I'm pretty sure my neck bearings are fucked up.
