636 Running Hot - T-Dubby - 04-19-2010

Just got this bike and pretty much since I've put the guages on in the lot the bike is running at 245 or HI the enter time idle stuff. Rode the streets the other night and pretty much was the same was at 220 on the hwy but soon as it slowed down it was running up there. I haven't seen it spit coolant much but still.

I removed my thermostat during the build. I don't have my fan wired on constant.. Just comes on when it's hot enough. What is everyone doing for this? I know bout two r6 fans etc but thats rediculous to have to do that just for a bike to run normal temp.

Only reason I miss F4i. that bike never never overheated . Could ride 2hrs straight in 110 heat fine. I can't ride 15mins without the gauges saying Hi to me

idk man, my first 636 would overheat in the ny summers alot but my 2nd one never did even on the hottest days. i wish i knew what the difference was as they were both mint 05/06's. i couldnt imagine what its like in az with a 636. i always hear about that engine ice shit but never used it.

Put a different radiator cap on there, same thing happened to mine and it was the cap, no problems since, if not maybe thermostat is bad ?

Thermostat isn't in the bike but maybe I'll try a new cap

636 Running Hot - Jo3 - 04-19-2010

alright, i took thermostat out of mine and it still did it, flushed it like 6 times, and spent all that time and it turned out to be a simple as the cap lol But at least it was something easy !
