1 Corintians chpt 2 = week 2 - joeltan - 08-13-2026 \r\n \r\n 1 corinthians ,1 \ntitle: \nfor me , it was actions speak louder then words \nbest vs: 2-5...... \ntalks about association IMO and how we go about leading others and trying to set an example. Even though sometimes words may not come off the tip of our tongues. We can still lead by example ???????? \n \n \nchallenge/hard vs: 10-14 \nsummary: \n \nits saying how we cannot fully understand God\'s will if we are not Christ minded.and how if we do not have that minds set then we are nothing.. \n \n \nguys, please correct me and add to what i have said . I know there is more but i am struggling.\r\n 1 Corintians chpt 2 = week 2 - Twite - 08-13-2026 \r\n \r\n Paul speaks of his testimony of Christ crucified being greater than "superior wisdom" (wisdom of the age). This is profound in context given it goes against the conventional Greek Logic of the time. \nSome thoughts: \nFaith relying on the power of God rather than men\'s wisdom. \nWisdom of God revealed through the Spirit in comparison to the dated wisdom of the men of that age (or any other). \nWe are able to discern this wisdom of the spirit, through the spirit given us through the power of Christ. \n \nThis chapter hit home a bit in a sense that I\'m a very logical person who places importance on wisdom, understanding, and reason. I think I need to be more mindful that there is a greater wisdom that often goes against the conventional logic of this world. \n \nIt\'s interesting to think of this from a non-Christian point of view. It\'s almost a cache 22 situation where you\'re not going to understand this true wisdom unless you know Christ. Looking from the outside in this seems like a cop-out to believe craziness. I suppose it\'s why Paul speaks of this as the foolishness of God.\r\n 1 Corintians chpt 2 = week 2 - Megan - 08-13-2026 \r\n \r\n \r\n Well when paul went to corinth he was speaking to many non believer\'s though well for the most part.\r\n

1 Corintians chpt 2 = week 2 - Twite - 08-13-2026 \r\n \r\n \r\n True, however Paul wasn\'t visiting Corinth here. He was writing a letter to the believers in Corinth.\r\n

\r\nquote: " you are not going to understand the true wisdom unless you know Christ"!!!!!\r\n 1 Corintians chpt 2 = week 2 - beardo - 08-13-2026 \r\n \r\n title: \nhidden wisdom \nbest: vs. 1-5 \n1When I came to you, brothers, I did not come with eloquence or superior wisdom as I proclaimed to you the testimony about God.[a] 2For I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ and him crucified. 3I came to you in weakness and fear, and with much trembling. 4My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit\'s power, 5so that your faith might not rest on men\'s wisdom, but on God\'s power. \npaul didnt teach ppl by his words (even tho he had more educaton than almost everyone he spoke to) but more so by the spirt that was inside of him, the spirit was made evident in his life through action and not word. Gods spirt bears witness with our sprit. i want to be more like that in my life.... i need more of Him and less of me! \nhard/challenge: vs.6 vs.14 \n6We do, however, speak a message of wisdom among the mature, but not the wisdom of this age or of the rulers of this age, who are coming to nothing. \n14The man without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned. \n like twite touched on above, i have a tendency to think about and see things in this physical world, i try to be wise in this life, but the true wisdom is not in this physicle life, it is in our spiritual life. the longer i live, the more and more i realize that this is so true, i dont want to be a babe in the spiritual things and i have gotten better about reminding myself to shift gears from the way i naturaly think into spiritual mindedness....if that makes sence...lol \nsummary: \nthis chapter speaks to me of the hidden wisdom of God. that is the spiritual wisdom that can only be found by the leading of Gods spirit. ppl who have not accepted Christs love and sacrifice cannot understand this type of wisdom. they discount it...and every person who speaks of it as the foolishness of fools. those spiritual truths are oposite the wisdom of natural men, but the truth to me is the spiritual things in life are as real or more real than the physical things that we as ppl persive (sp) to be reality....again i have to constantly remind myself... just b/c i cant see it doesnt mean it isnt real..... .......Lord bless you all.....beardo\r\n 1 Corintians chpt 2 = week 2 - CrazyMike - 08-13-2026 \r\n \r\n Great points guys! I really don\'t have much to add that you guys didn\'t drive home already. \n \nOne part of this chapter that really rings loud to me is found in verse 3-5. "I came to you in weakness and fear, and with much trembling. My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit\'s power, so that your faith might not rest on men\'s wisdom, but on God\'s power." \n \nThis is truly remarkable. Just as Beardo mentioned, Paul was an intellectual giant. He was previously a Pharisee before his conversion on the road to Damascus. Many of you probably already know the rigorous memorization of scripture and law that they were required to learn. He wrote much of the New Testament and was one of the most brilliant theologians in history. Yet, when he came to these Corinthians he didn\'t try to persuade them with logic. Instead the power of the Holy Spirit would come upon him to heal the sick. Because of his obedience and faith in Christ, the Spirit of God demonstrated His power by healing a cripple, casting out demons, being immune to a viper bite, and leading large crowd\'s to a saving knowledge of Jesus. \n \nBethel church in Redding, CA just finished a film that has many awesome testimonies of what God is doing all over the world...right now. The film is called, "Finger of God".\r\n 1 Corintians chpt 2 = week 2 - ScottieD - 08-13-2026 \r\n \r\n Good stuff guys.\r\n 1 Corintians chpt 2 = week 2 - beardo - 08-13-2026 \r\n \r\n redding ca. !!!!\r\n
